Julie is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SDHRC. She has over 20 years experience in Human Resources Management working with multiple industries such as Start-Ups, Consulting, Recruiting Firms, Technology, SaaS, Marketing and Advertising Agencies, Education, Telecommunications, Service and Entertainment. Julie has established and led HR departments at both large (Fortune 100) and emerging companies specializing in start-up and turn- around for multi-unit locations. She has been responsible for the HR aspects of mergers & acquisitions, reorganizations and company closures. Julie has led teams of HR professionals and developed them to full competency in the field. She holds a Master of Science degree in Human Resources Management from Chapman University and has taught Human Resources Management classes at Mira Costa College. We don’t think she’s scared of anything. Well, maybe big spiders. But, the point is, with Julie at the helm—your business is in good hands.
Cherie Beck “Diving Diva“
Cherie has 20 plus years of Human Resources experience, specifically in compensation, mergers and acquisitions and start up operations, acting as an employee champion as well as a change agent. Cherie holds a Bachelors in Business Administration from Cal State San Marcos and she is a member of SHRM and WorldatWork. A native to Southern California, Cherie is an avid diver. Free diving and snorkeling are a family tradition beginning with her grandparents and carrying down to Cherie’s grandchildren. Each year Cherie’s family hosts a reunion on Catalina Island filled with family fun and diving. Cherie’s adventurous nature is reflected in her life and work ethics as she dives right in to tackle what needs to be done, and that’s why we call her the Diving Diva

Courtney Closner “The Closer”
Courtney has been in recruiting for seven years and is laser focused. She has extensive experience recruiting across a wide variety of industries, including healthcare, IT, finance, and oil and gas. Courtney’s unique approach at the very beginning of a recruiting job helps her identify the best new talent easily, effortlessly, and quickly. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Special Education from the University of Alabama, and she is a former volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House charities. Courtney lives in Texas with her family, and when she’s not recruiting, she is chasing around her toddler daughter. Not only is she extremely effective, we kinda think she looks like Kyra Sedgwick, thus the nickname “The Closer.” Her last name is just a coincidence.
Linda Cortez “Your Hi-Ness”
Linda is our Client Experience Manager who holds a wealth of business development experience in the local San Diego and Southern California markets and who enjoys the thrill of connecting client needs with our awesome HR and Recruiting talents and efforts. Linda is active networker who is bilingual and bicultural in English and Spanish…arriba, arriba! A San Diego native, Linda enjoys country dancing and absolutely adores spending time with her two daughters and four amazing grandchildren (spoken like a true Grandma!). Linda is a social butterfly who enjoys fluttering in the outdoors which is evident by her hiking trail sign (and now SDHRC call sign) “Hi-Ness” – given to her because she always says “hi” to those she meets on the trail.
Melissa Deaton “Maestro”
Melissa is a Lead Recruiter who brings over 6 years of recruiting experience fulfilling professional and those hard to fill techie positions. Melissa studied Business Administration at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga and currently makes her home in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. As much as Melissa loves and appreciates all things techie, she loves nothing better than a trusty pen and paper to take notes and make lists and enjoys the satisfaction of crossing things off once complete. Melissa also enjoys hiking, fishing and biking with her family, volunteering and playing the piano and the harp. Our Maestro also plays her keys and strings to create the perfect harmony in recruiting the right candidate to the right position to a tune you just can’t resist!
Kelly Dingess “Goalkeeper”
Kelly is a HR Consultant who brings ten years plus of experience in Human Resource. Kelly holds a BA in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Azusa Pacific and she was previously certified as a Compensation Professional. Kelly’s extensive experience includes recruiting, benefits, employee relations as well as new insurance provider transitions and on-boarding program creation. Kelly has been married to her hubby Jerry for 9 years, resulting in two kiddos, a daughter and son. Kelly loves soccer and playing indoor soccer is one of her favorite hobbies. Eyes on end result for her clients, Kelly also knows the value of preventive defense by guiding clients in HR compliance which earns her the nickname, Goalkeeper.
Crystal Eckel “Gem Huntress”
A recruiter with 7 years of human resources/recruitment experience, Crystal has focused the last 4 years in technical recruiting. Once technology challenged, Crystal was bitten by the techie bug and she soon could not get enough of new technologies, languages, platforms and methodologies! Crystal graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in History and enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, especially anything involving water and running and yes, she loves running in the rain. At 5’10” with origins from Spartanburg, SC, this warrior woman will search and battle her way for the best candidate and that’s why we call her Gem Huntress.
Traci Hagan, MHRM “Treasure Trove”
Webster defines “Treasure Trove” as a valuable discovery, resource or collection which describes our find in Traci who brings over 25+ years experience in employee relations, conflict resolution benefits administration, training and development, workers’ comp and staffing. Traci holds a Bachelors in Social Work from Florida State University and a Masters in HR Management from University of North Florida. Raised on Florida beaches, Traci has traveled to cold and distance places such as Boston, NY, and Bangladesh, but now enjoys living in San Diego where she walks her 13 year old “puppy”, enjoys outdoor yoga classes and admits sirens in the city beat the cold and snow any day. Restaurant server to HR Director, visiting Professor to a volunteer for 2 years in Bangladesh, Traci’s experiences encompass multi-organizational and cross-cultural issues which allow her to expertly charter the waters of complex problems and where she thrives by discovering and providing solutions for smoother sailing. There is no better HR guide than Traci, SDHRC’s Treasure Trove.
Lori Jolly “Jolly Jumps”
Lori, a Lead Recruiter, brings over 11 years in recruiting, which includes a background with corporate and staffing agency partners. With a focus on placing qualified technical and professional candidates in individual contributor roles and team member roles, Lori has continued this focus with SDHR Consulting as the corporate internal recruiter. During her ‘down-time’, Lori and her husband corral 4 kiddos and 2 cats, and while they are a die-hard Cowboys football family – Lori prefers to catch up on her latest novel, during the game! Lori excels in fast-paced, ever-changing environments, maintaining her commitment to detail and focus to potential moving targets and jumps at any challenge thrown in her path, earning her the nickname “Jolly Jumps”.
Rachel Mancl “Rockstar”
Rachel is one of our Rockstar Recruiters who actually hails from the home state of Les Paul himself. Rachel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Psychology from Marquette University with a wealth of experience in functional and technical recruiting all across the United States, as well as internationally. Born and raised in Wisconsin, Rachel loves beer, brats, cheese and the Green Bay Packers. Rachel and her hubby share an addiction to tacos and craft coffees as well as a shared joy in the fall arrival of their first baby. Rachel finds harmony in discovering an ultimate performer (candidate) to fit the right venue (open position) to bring down the house (close out the position) and she always open to extended tours (more recruiting)! In a word she is a Rockstar!
Brenda Olsen “The Doll-e-Llama”
Brenda is our amazing Administrative Manager. With over 16 years of business administration and accounting experience, she keeps this crew working smoothly. For eleven years, Brenda was the Secretary/Treasurer for a cutting edge aerospace research and development company in Seattle. Having enough of the rain, she moved to sunny San Diego. Lucky us! And, who would have thought, she’s a llama whisperer!
Alyssa Pfeiffer “Legal Eagle”
Alyssa is our Legal Eagle Analyst bringing HR experience as well as her legal background to the SDHRC table. Alyssa received her Bachelors of Arts in Communication Studies from University of California at Santa Barbara, Juris Doctor from California Western School in San Diego, and she is a member of the California Bar. Alyssa makes her home in sunny San Diego and when she is not working, she enjoys the pool, beach time and movie nights with her husband and two daughters.
Lauren Polichetti “Purple Unicorn Hunter”
Recruiter and Texan native Lauren brings 18 years plus of technical and functional recruiting experience, she is a certified LinkedIn professional recruiter and she is known as a successful purple unicorn hunter. Lauren loves to dance and she is a fan of most music genres, particularly 80’s and classic rock and she loves the color purple (we see a theme, purple unicorn, color purple…perhaps Purple Rain as well?). At 19, Lauren found her own purple unicorn just recently off a US Navy sub and their soon to be married daughter is the apple of their eye. Loyal to a fault, Lauren’s attention to detail rivals the most particular CDOs (and if you know what that means, you are one too).
Carmen Proctor, PMP “Carmen dot Com”
Carmen Proctor, our SDHRC Program Manager, brings over 20 years of experience in strategy, management and analytics consulting and project implementations from various industries and she is PMP certified. Carmen received her Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from MIT and her Master’s in Foreign Service from Georgetown. Carmen grew up in Puerto Rico playing competitive tennis and continued to do so through college. Carmen now resides in So Cal with her hubby and two kiddos where she loves the beach, enjoys beach paddle, and is learning to surf. Carmen also enjoys structuring and managing projects as well as researching and finding great ideas and solutions to implement or adapt. If she doesn’t know the answer, Carmen will search until she finds it and that’s why we call her Carmen dot Com.
Cari Prosi, SPHR-SCP “Mad Hatter”
Cari has been in Human Resources for ten years, holds a Masters of Education from National University, a Bachelors of Anthropology from Humboldt State, a HRM certification and recently gained her SHRM SENIOR CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL (SHRM–SCP). Cari is native to San Diego and she once worked in Yosemite as a horseback guide and backcountry packer. Cari loves Mexican food and margaritas and is mom to a 6 year old and a set of toddler twins. Cari, a self-proclaimed “frequent flier of the Kindle Store”, loves to read in her spare time and whose guilty pleasures are M&Ms and romance novels. Cari has truly worked in every aspect of HR, and she is so well versed in the ever changing rotation of many hats, both in work and in life, we call her the Mad Hatter.
Rachel Redmond “Big Red”
G’day Mate! Nope it’s not Crocodile Dundee but our Rockstar with a lovely Australian accent, Rachel R. Rachel has been been a recruiter for 9+ years, adding tech and engineering to her skill set in recent years. Recruiting fits well with Rachel’s love of meeting and learning about people – something she has developed since birth. Born in the US, Rachel spent most of her life in Australia and has lived in the Bahamas, West Indies, and Canada before settling in Southern California where she is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems and rocking recruiting for SDHRC. Nicknamed for her height (5’9″) and last name, Big Red, enjoys snowboarding and food, not always in that order as her friends call her “small hand, big appetite”. While her hands may be small, her ability to handle your recruiting needs is unlimited!
Julie Reed “Jreed”
“JReed”, as she has agreed to be called to avoid confusion with our Fearless Leader, has 7+ years of technical recruiting experience and holds a Masters in HR Management as well as multiple technical certifications. JReed is an expert hunter in finding those technical colored unicorns which is evident by her collection of captured Citrix Engineers and CCIEs. Originally from Buffalo, Jreed is a lover of the Bills, wings and snow. She enjoys swimming and triathlons and is an avid reader of Cozy Mysteries. And when she says “avid” reader…she means a book a day! Jreed home schools her 14 year old daughter and just recently the family relocated from North Carolina to Florida in the middle of Hurricane Harvey. We can definitely attest to Jreed’s impeccable timing in finding the eye of the storm for she has landed herself in a whirlwind of recruiting activity which might just keep her from her beloved books for a day or two.
Suzy Robinson “The Organizer”
Suzy is our Executive Assistant with over 10 years administrative experience working for a large grocery chain and seven years working in human resources for a small de-icing systems company servicing the military and the aerospace industries. She lives in SoCal Wine Country with her husband and three active teenagers. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Cal State Fullerton. While Suzy claims she might have slight OCD tendencies, we think she’s the perfect fit to organize this crew at SDHRC. Amazingly she still finds time to be actively engaged in her community volunteer activities and personal wine collection. But, we all still wonder what her closets look like. The bottom line is Suzy is quick, efficient and really organized. So, we had no choice but to nickname her “the Organizer.”
Shaun Winn “Madam Mediator”
Shaun is the HR/Employee Relations Consultant. With over 19 years of comprehensive Employee Relations and Human Resources experience, her talent in motivating employees and managers at all levels to improve morale, well-being, and productivity. She is an advocate for promoting fair and positive employment relationships and helping employers and employees through difficult situations and strengthen their relationships. She swiftly addresses and resolves workplace concerns, helps mediate, and fosters safe and open communication between leadership, staff, and employees. She is an advocate for the company and the employee and finds ways to positively improve both. She holds an HR Management Certificate from the University of California, San Diego. She has toddler twin girls and a 5-year-old girl and has a hard time putting into words how much she falls in love with them over and over again, every day.
